Ørstedsparken is the main outdoor place for cruising in Copenhagen. The crowd that you can find there is quite diverse including gay party people who make a last stop before bed, ‘confused’ straight young guys who missed their way and married men who came for a ‘happy hour’ break.
The whole action takes mainly place around the lakes or between the bushes. In the winter, as there is not much foliage, the action moves to the darker places of the park. Sex at the dark is usually quick without talking and many times even without noises. Sometimes you can participate in group action; just approach and if nobody makes you a nod to leave stay and contribute to the group ‘work’.
Don’t be surprised if you see straight couples walking through the park or guys that are not looking for anything. The park is in the middle of the city so it can be a very pleasant shortcut.
The park is not dangerous, if you use your common sense, but be aware that there can always be pickpockets or gay bashers. If you feel any danger just leave and do not hesitate to contact the police if something happens to you or other visitors. Copenhagen’s police has the fame of a gay friendly police. Right place to stand: At a bench near the bushes or at the entrance of the playground.
Wrong place to stand: At the edge of the lake. If you fell there is no guarantee that somebody will be able to help you.
