When it comes to ‘going out the homo way’ Copenhagen offers a great selection of gay and lesbian bars, pubs and nightclubs – some of which are open for business all night, all week long.
Quite a lot of the gay and lesbian bars and clubs are clustered in the same small area. Make sure to find a street called ‘Studiestræde’ in Copenhagen city center as a number of these places are placed at or very near to that street.

Amigo Bar
| BOYS & GIRLS | A gay-friendly bar located in Frederiksberg near Copenhagen city center. Amigo Bar used to be an all-gay bar, but today the place has a very mixed clientele and targets the entire gender scale.
Café Intime
| BOYS & GIRLS | A cozy piano bar that welcomes all personalities and ages. The bar’s smaller sized premises in combination with dark furniture, the piano in the corner and dim lighting create an inviting and homelike atmosphere.
Can Can
| BOYS MOSTLY | Can Can is a small gay bar located close to the city’s town hall square and main shopping street Strøget. The bar is mainly visited by gay men, but you will often find a mixed crowd, especially in the weekends.
Centralhjørnet
| BOYS MOSTLY | Centralhjørnet is a bodega-style gay bar situated in Copenhagen’s gay mecca, near Studiestræde, and is known for its over-the-top holiday decorations, heavy wooden furniture and that Danish local feeling.
Club Christopher
| BOYS & GIRLS | Club Christopher is a nightclub located in the city center, which stands for acceptance, tolerance, emancipation and first and foremost a good party. The club is located in the premises that hosted the famous gay night club, Pan, which closed back in 2007.
Cosy Bar
| BOYS & GIRLS | A gay and lesbian bar that never sleeps and often resembles a small nightclub, so if you are a party animal this is the place to get your groove on until the next morning – every day.
Heaven
| BOYS & GIRLS | A gay and lesbian bar in the city center promising their guests distinct service, nice decor and good music.
Jailhouse CPH
| BOYS MOSTLY | A prison-cell decorated bar where drinks are served by men in uniforms and enjoyed in a cell – this gay bar surely stands out from the crowd.
Lesbisk Kaffe & Ølbar
| GIRLS MOSTLY | A cozy yet retro and chic coffee and beer bar in Vesterbro in walking distance from Copenhagen city center. The place offers a wide selection of coffee, tea and beer that turns into less of a café and more of a bar in the weekends.
Masken Bar & Cafe
| BOYS & GIRLS | An energetic gay bar, located in Copenhagens gay district, Studiestræde, with a good and diversified LGBT clientele. The bar has a long history within the gay community, and went through extensive renovation in 2011.
Men’s Bar
| BOYS ONLY | A bar frequented by gay men with a leather/uniform dresscode. Men’s Bar is one of Copenhagen’s oldest gay bars and is located in the gay district close to Studiestræde in the city center.
Never Mind
| BOYS & GIRLS | A cozy and inviting bar that welcomes you any night of the week and turns into a minor nightclub in the weekends. The bar has a very mixed audience, but there is a majority of gay men when over-looking the crowd.
Oscar Bar Café
| BOYS & GIRLS | A popular café and bar with outdoor serving and DJs playing in weekends. Oscar Bar Café is a popular place for all LGBTs and is right next to Copenhagen Town Hall in the city center.
Vela Gay Club
| GIRLS MOSTLY | An all-girls bar with a guaranteed party during weekends. The bar is located in Vesterbro, which is no more than a 5 minutes walk away from Copenhagen Central Station (Hovedbanegården).
